Dewalt DC011 Portable Radio Battery Charger

Details And Features Of The Dewalt DC011

This portable high quality radio battery charger is a great add on for any owner or user of Dewalt cordless drills and portable power tools.

Unlike other portable site radios, this is a versatile unit being capable of also recharging most popular Dewalt battery packs.

It can be purchased in both 110v and 240 volt versions depending on whether you need to run it off standard 240v mains supply in European countries, 110v mains electric in the USA, or 110 volts as its power supply using a transformer on a work site.

The Dewalt DC011 is versatile in being able to also function as a radio that can work on either an electric mains supply or also off a Dewalt rechargeable battery pack. It can be powered off most Nicad and NiMh Dewalt batteries that are in the 7.2v to 18v range.

The radio itself is an am/fm radio and fitted with a digital tuning display that shows the frequency of the particular radio station selected. This has eight (8) station presets as well as a built in clock.

To aid reception a removable flexible antenna is fitted. Being dual pivoting this provides greater durability as well as better reception.

The Dewalt DC011 Radio Battery Charger also has an auxiliary input socket which allows connection of a cd player, an mp3 player or an iPod. A plastic cd player housing case is attached to the side of this radio charger for onboard storage.

The sound output of this unit is ideal for use in the workplace. Dual stereo speakers are fitted that produce clear, sharp, and high quality sound. The speakers themselves are weather resistant and fitted with dual bass ports for maximum bass and range.

The Dewalt radio charger has a rear battery housing where a single rechargeable battery pack can be fitted for fast charging. This is also where the battery would be fitted if you wish to power the radio this way.

Depending on the voltage and battery type (nicad or nickel metal hydride) fitted, it can fully charge a flat battery between 30 and 70 minutes time. The inbuilt charger circuitry is of "intelligent" design being a three (3) stage system. This provides maximum operating time as well as extending the service life of the Dewalt battery packs.

Another feature worth mentioning is the attached carry handle and protection frame. Manufactured in a tough moulded plastic it allows easy transporation and portability, as well as good protection to the radio itself.

The DC011 is not the cheapest site radio you can buy but is a goodvalue for money considering its overall features and quality. Tradesmen can listen to the radio as they work in addition to also charging their power tools battery packs.
